Captain Chili’s Sportfishing
We spent the morning fishing with Captain Rogelio and his crew. The boat was good and comfortable. We were on the water by 8 am and before 9 am we had already landed our first of 8 fish. We caught 6 Kingfish and 2 Barracuda (1 giant). Our 10 y/o became a little seasick so we decided to head back a few hours early instead of going further and fishing for even larger game fish. He did reel in 2 fish on his own so it was well worth it.
Back at the doc Rogelio cleaned, filleted and packaged one of the kingfish for us to take home to cook. I would definitely use Captain Rogelio and Chili’s Sportfishing again for both family outings and serious game fishing.
4 Hour Trip – Offshore fishing on November 25, 2024
6 of us for 6 hours. We bagged 12 kingfish , one of them was about 4.5ft long. Released a purple of barracudas. Sandwiches / beer / water / ice – great! There was shade and a bench inside. Crew – 3 of them – was professional and they had appropriate bait and fishing gear. The vote was that we would do it again On the downside : the boat had a noisy / smelly diesel engine; may not be for everyone
6 Hour Trip – Big Game Fishing on November 28, 2024
These guys were very professional. Rogelio was waiting for us on the street. He gave us a quick rundown on what we should expect and also asked us question to get a feel for how experienced we were.
Although no sailfish wanted to cooperate) only 1 boat got a sail today) we did catch a few barracuda, and small Mahi, and one nice bull Mahi.
The boat was exactly as advertised, clean, well maintained and beautiful. Fernando, the deck hand was excellent at his job and friendly.
We will definitely calling Rogelio on our next trip.
